Coming up this week…
Reading Groups
Please note that a book will be coming home with your child every night for the rest of the year. This book needs to be brought back to school each day. To move on to another book, your child must read the book without mistakes and be able to retell what happened in that book. Usually, the more students practice at home, the quicker they progress through the levels. As we have a very high standard for the end of kindergarten, it is imperative that time be spent each night working on the reader. Thank you for your attention to this exciting and important time!
Literature
In literature we will be practicing narrative order through the story, “The Little Red Hen” and students will grow in their ability to write their thoughts.
Singapore Math
This week, we are continuing learning concrete and abstract concepts through 10.
Weekly Phonograms
Mastery: o, c, a, d, g, f, s, qu, b, e, h, i, u, j, k, l, m, n, p, r, s, t, u, v, w, z, y, z, sh, ee, th, ow, ou, oo, ch, ar
No new phonograms this week!
Poem of the Month:
Singing-Time
By: Rose Fyleman
I wake in the morning early
And always, the very first thing,
I poke out my head and I sit up in bed
And I sing and I sing and I sing.
